Dear Joe,
It has been over two weeks since I left Brandon Oaks and I don't know where the time has flown. I had intended to write to you long before this to thank you for your attention during my stay following my hip replacement on November 19. From the very beginning, I felt that you and your staff were responsive to my needs and care. Both the day and night care staff came quickly to my room whenever I requested assistance. They were cheerful, polite, and respectful to me and made me feel welcome in an unfamiliar environment.
Your administrative staff went out of their way to deal with the insurance issue regarding my transfer from the hospital to your facility. When I was discharged the same staff was tireless in their efforts to facilitate a smooth release with the equipment that I would require once I was back in our home. While I did not use Brandon Oaks for transport service to and from medical office visits, I knew that service could be arranged for me in the absence of family.
I cannot say enough about your PT staff. They were friendly without being intrusive, knowledgeable, sensitive, encouraging and supportive throughout the course of my rehabilitation. I saw the sensitivity and care with which they attended to others in rehab who were not as far into their therapy as I.
My room was exceptionally clean, very pleasant, and spacious. It was a pleasure to spend time there.
Then there were meals that sustained me between PT. It felt like they were prepared just for me. I found the quality a cut above other institutional meals. They arrived hot and appetizing. (I tried daily to send an encouraging message to the kitchen staff.)
You were ever present with your inquiries regarding my comfort during my stay. "Thank you" seems so inadequate. You and your family adopted me while Jenny and her family were out of town. Thank you for the notes from the girls and for the calls inquiring after my status.
Sometime in the future I plan to have the other hip replaced and I look forward to the same exceptional care that I received during my stay this time. It made what seemed to me, a frightening experience, into a most positive one. Please send my thanks and regards to all of the Brandon Oaks staff.
Hoping that you and all your staff have a blessed Christmas and healthy New Year, I remain
Yours truly,
Polly Huber
